Notes

  • Claimants of Jobseeker's Allowance and those Universal Credit claimants who are required to look for work, counted on the second Thursday of each month, not seasonally adjusted, so a month is best compared with the same month a year before. The ONS rounds each count to the nearest 5.
  • Each month's figures are the ONS's file for that month, kept as it was published: the newest from its current file and the twelve before from its previous versions. The chart shows the latest month beside the same month a year before; the table has all 13.
