Notes

  • A flood alert means flooding is possible, a flood warning that it is expected and immediate action is needed, and a severe flood warning that there is a danger to life. Each year runs from April to March.
  • From 2018–19 the figures are the latest report's; for 2012–13 to 2017–18 the 2021–22 report's, the only one that gives them. The Environment Agency's file of every warning issued counts 2,460 flood warnings in 2019–20 where every report gives 2,455, and 3,439 alerts and 1,002 warnings in 2025–26 where the report gives 3,441 and 1,004.
