Notes

  • Offences per 100,000 people, on the mid-year population estimates the ONS uses for each year, rounded to the nearest 100. The selected offences are homicide, attempted murder, threats to kill, assault with injury and with intent to cause serious harm, robbery, rape and sexual assault, as in the counts of knife-crime-by-police-force. The City of London's rates are suppressed for its small resident population, and London's rate counts its offences and people with the Metropolitan Police's.
  • The British Transport Police count in England and Wales's figure but in neither nation's, and hold no area. The chart leaves England and Wales, the nations and England's regions to the table, since they would dwarf every force.
