Notes

  • A precept is collected with each council's own council tax. The Greater London Authority's pays for the Mayor's police (£334.13 of £510.51 in 2026–27) and other services; Greater Manchester, South Yorkshire, West Yorkshire and York and North Yorkshire's include their police and crime commissioner functions, beside which MHCLG gives their general functions apart. A precept of £0 is a real £0.
  • The West of England, Devon and Torbay and Lancashire set no precept and are not in MHCLG's table: they have no figure here, not £0.
