Notes
- Relative low income after housing costs: household income, adjusted for household size, below 60% of the median for that year once rent, mortgage interest, water and council tax are paid. From DWP's Households Below Average Income statistics, based on the Family Resources Survey.
- The series breaks in 2021/22, when DWP began linking the survey to benefit and tax records, so figures before and after are not directly comparable. Figures cover Great Britain until 2001/02 and the UK from 2002/03.
- DWP's absolute low income measure is not shown: in 2026 it moved to a new base year for 2021/22 onwards only, which breaks its series until DWP rebases the earlier years.
