Notes

  • Offences per 1,000 people, on the population the ONS gives in the table, rounded to the nearest 100. Each force's offences that could not be placed in one of its partnerships, and Greater Manchester's at Manchester Airport, hold no population and so have no rate. The City of London's rate is suppressed for its small resident population.
  • Counts exclude fraud and computer misuse, which Action Fraud records for every force, so the ONS gives no figure for them by force. Recorded crime reflects what is reported to the police and how they record it, which changes with recording practice.
  • The chart draws each police force area; the table holds every partnership. The headline is the highest partnership's rate, since the partnership tables give no figure for England and Wales.
