Notes
- Offences per 1,000 people, on the mid-year population estimates the ONS names in the table. The City of London's rates are suppressed for its small resident population, and London's rate counts its offences and people with the Metropolitan Police's. The British Transport Police have no rate, since no resident population is theirs, but England and Wales's rate counts their offences.
- Counts exclude fraud and computer misuse, which Action Fraud records for every force, so the ONS gives no figure for them by force. Recorded crime reflects what is reported to the police and how they record it, which changes with recording practice.
