Notes

  • Counted from Parliament's statutory instruments tracker, which starts in June 2017 and records instruments laid before Parliament. It is not a register of every instrument: legislation.gov.uk also lists instruments that are never laid.
  • An instrument counts in the year it was first laid, in either House; some are laid in the Commons only. Full calendar years only: a year is shown once the first instrument of the next has been laid.
  • Proposed negative instruments are drafts a committee sifts before they are laid under a procedure. Other procedures include remedial orders, legislative reform orders and enhanced affirmative instruments.
