Notes
- Pupils at the end of key stage 2 in state-funded schools, as the DfE's data set by region and local authority places them: meeting the expected standard in a subject, and the higher standard (greater depth in writing; science has none). Reading, writing and maths counts pupils meeting the standard in all three.
- The DfE gives these figures for England's 153 councils with education and children's services duties (its unitary, metropolitan and London councils and its 21 counties), not for districts.
- The DfE's methodology: “Regional eligible pupil figures are rounded to the nearest 10 when suppression is applied” The DfE's regions give every count of pupils to the nearest 10 and its shares as whole numbers.
- The latest year is provisional until the DfE's revised release each December.
