Notes
- Births registered in each calendar year, by the year they happened, including a few registered late. Births to mothers who usually live outside England and Wales are in the total, as the ONS counts it.
- The ONS stopped publishing the total fertility rate as a series in 2023: each edition now gives its own year's rate, and earlier rates change when population estimates are revised, so it is not shown.
