Pupils in Year 4 in state-funded schools eligible for the multiplication tables check, as the DfE's data set by region and local authority places them: those who took it and those who did not, and why. The check is scored out of 25.
The DfE gives these figures for England's 153 councils with education and children's services duties (its unitary, metropolitan and London councils and its 21 counties), not for districts.
The DfE's methodology: “All percentages are rounded to the nearest whole number. Average scores are rounded to 1 decimal place.” Its regions' counts of pupils are rounded to the nearest 10.
The DfE's figures for 2025/26 are not yet in its data set.
