Official statistics

2015 · the most deprived LSOA in England on the Index of Multiple Deprivation

Verified against source, 29 October 2026, 11:49 UTC
Where each area's figures are

32,844 small areas on England's LSOAs of 2011, too many to chart. Each area's figures are on its council's page, under Small areas, with every other dataset's for the same council; the councils are listed below. The whole file is in the CSV and JSON.

The hub keeps each figure on the area its file gives, never moved onto another year's areas. An area is found under the council the ONS's output area lookups put it in, or for Scotland and Northern Ireland the area register; an LSOA of 2011 that ended in 2021, which no lookup of today holds, under the council its own file names. 32,741 of the 32,844 are under a council with a page.

Notes

  • Each LSOA's rank is among all of England's LSOAs in that edition, 1 being the most deprived, and its decile places it in tenths of them, 1 being the most deprived tenth. LSOAs whose scores tie share a rank, as MHCLG gives them. Ranks are relative: a lower rank in one edition than another does not mean an area became more deprived, and MHCLG changed the indicators and the LSOAs between editions, so it says editions should not be compared rank for rank.
  • The seven domains are income, employment, education, skills and training, health deprivation and disability, crime, barriers to housing and services, and the living environment; the Index of Multiple Deprivation combines them with MHCLG's weights.
  • On England's LSOAs of 2011, as the 2015 edition was made, and published by the Department for Communities and Local Government, as MHCLG then was. Its councils are those of 2013. The indicators are mostly of 2012 and 2013.
