Notes
- Sales of council homes in each financial year, as councils return them to MHCLG for the pooling of housing capital receipts. A shared ownership lease sold counts as part of a home, so some figures are fractions (MHCLG's note 4).
- MHCLG counts only sales of homes in a council's Housing Revenue Account: a council that has transferred its homes and closed its account has no figure, and Hartlepool and Bradford are not counted as stock-holding for pooling (its notes 1 and 14).
- Barnsley's and Sheffield's sales are under the codes they took on 1 April 2025, in every year.
- Tables and charts show fractions to two decimal places; the downloads give each figure in full.
